Kathy Kolb Moon received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from
California State University, Chico. She began her nursing career as an
HIV/AIDS and Hospice Case Manager. She obtained her Masters of Science in
Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner from Western University of Health
Sciences, in an innovative distance-learning program that allowed her to
stay home with her children.
Kathy has won numerous awards, including the Air Force Nursing Leadership
Award while at CSUC. The Compassion Award for HIV/AIDS Education for
service in Butte County, and the Class Service Award and Mid-Level
Practitioner Student of the Year Award and WUHS. She worked on the
California State Consortia Standards Committee developing standards for
HIV case managements and was appointed to serve on the Butte County
HIV/AIDS Task force.
Before discovering Reedsport, Kathy developed and managed an
Anticoagulation Clinic for Feather River Hospital in Paradise, California.
She moved here in 2005 with her husband, Bruce, and together they have six
children. They love fishing and rock hounding. Kathy’s newest hobby is
wire-wrapping cabochon jewelry, using a variety of stones that Bruce cuts
and polishes for her.
